My work is experiential. I identify my experiences with those of other people and especially with my family, my grandmother, her sister, mixing the past with the present. Personal issues turns into social, and vice versa. I raise concerns on the position of woman, family, sexuality, people who are in a weak position such as migrants. Mostly my work is symbolic with hidden messages and implications. I prefer as basic medium pencil on large-scale paper, that is giving a sense of melancholy and sensitivity. In addition, I use embroideries that refer to the traditional female occupations especially in Greece. I wonder if the restrictions, the oppression and the persceptions we have from our family and the society has been changed to this day.
After all are we free?
